Service to the Lord...

So yesterday was our Saturday to go serve in the Temple. It is always amazing to me that when you are in the service of the Lord you do not seem to require a nap!!! And it was great to see a few friends from the Georgetown area.

So my calling at church is the Primary Music Leader/Chorister. Which is always fun. Hello, i get to sing fun songs and make up fun games to pick those songs. But the down side is that i have to teach new songs. And sometimes best laid plains, just have to be trashed!! So i was going to teach a new song for Fathers Day today that all the children will be singing in Sacrament. (When i hear my Father Pray) As it turns out it was written for like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was not working at all. So after a few tries with just the first line, we (the Pianist and I) quickly went to the old stand by songs. (Daddy's Homecoming and My Dad) And lucky for me they know those songs!! I plan to have them blow a kiss to their dad's at the end of Daddy's Homecoming! I always get nervous when i have to conduct in Sacrament, because you never know what the kids are going to do or if they are going to sing at all or loud enough. Today I reminded them that this is not a Solo for Sister Ashmore. They think that is funny! But i am very serious. I can blend, but not carry it on my own!!
