Birthday Time For ME

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY AND I HAVE GREAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS. SO MANY HAVE A CALLED EMAILED OR BLOGGED OR SENT CARDS. THANKS TO ALL.

So my great new friend Raquel insited on giving me a little birthday party Saturday night at her house. So Katie and Jesse drove down, and our other friends Jon and Emily went also. Raquel and her husband Randy made a great Mexican dinner. And then we played a few games. It was wonderful to get together and laugh and simply enjoy everyones company. Thanks Raquel.

Katie brought me chocolate pie. It was super good. And they sang just about every birthday song know to man!! So check out their cat. She has her own chair!!!! That was so cute and funny!! I thought at first it was a time out chair. (I Most certainly was in daycare bus. too long)And here is Katie, Raquel, Emily discussing all the worlds issue that can be solved be just a little Love!! Emily is 5 months with baby. I think she is still very tiny. We are super excited for them!
So on Birthday Day. Which was today (23rd) i had to drive to Austin for a doctors visit. Emily went with me. Then after we meet Katie at her work and went to Mongonlian Grill. Super yummy. I even had enough for dinner tonight. So my wonderful husband surpised me with the new apple ipod shuffle. He also had it engraved!! It is great, now i dont have to borrow his ipod. And i already have 266 songs.

And of course like Andy will tell you (the greatess kid ever, yes there is only one cute red head with a great big smile and witty sayings!!! Love and miss ya) cupcakes have to have sprinkles. So here is to you Andy. So if anyone wants a cupcake and you are in the SA area tomorrow come on by!!! I think i may take some next door to the nieghbors, if they stay here i will eat them. And then have to walk even faster and longer for a few days!!

So i am older than the number of cupcakes here, but younger than all the sprinkes added togeather!!

Empty Nest FHE

Okay so Michael is the High Priest Leader in our Ward at Church. (Leader of a group of the Priesthood Men) And so one of the first things he has done is started a Family Home Evening Group for Empty Nester's. We have found it is kinda of hard to have a weekly spiritual lesson when it is just two people and after years of doing it with a family you kinda miss the structure of it all. So we planned our first one. Printed reminders in the bulletin, made a cute sign for at home, baked a fun dessert. Expecting around 8-10 people at least. So needles to say that we were a bit disappointed that only one other couple came. And it was our friends Jon & Emily!!!! But we still had a great time!! I will let you know how it goes next month!!

Service to the Lord...

So yesterday was our Saturday to go serve in the Temple. It is always amazing to me that when you are in the service of the Lord you do not seem to require a nap!!! And it was great to see a few friends from the Georgetown area.

So my calling at church is the Primary Music Leader/Chorister. Which is always fun. Hello, i get to sing fun songs and make up fun games to pick those songs. But the down side is that i have to teach new songs. And sometimes best laid plains, just have to be trashed!! So i was going to teach a new song for Fathers Day today that all the children will be singing in Sacrament. (When i hear my Father Pray) As it turns out it was written for like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was not working at all. So after a few tries with just the first line, we (the Pianist and I) quickly went to the old stand by songs. (Daddy's Homecoming and My Dad) And lucky for me they know those songs!! I plan to have them blow a kiss to their dad's at the end of Daddy's Homecoming! I always get nervous when i have to conduct in Sacrament, because you never know what the kids are going to do or if they are going to sing at all or loud enough. Today I reminded them that this is not a Solo for Sister Ashmore. They think that is funny! But i am very serious. I can blend, but not carry it on my own!!

Family, Friends, and Dogs

Well last weekend Katie and Jesse came down for the weekend. In tow was Rowdy and Molly. The Middlestats also came with them. Talk about a stuffed Mazda Tribute. They actually came down to go to SeaWorld and me and Michael got to babysit the dogs! Everyone looks pretty good in the photo considering they had a full day at SeaWorld. We all had a great time. Jesse BBQed some great burgers and hotdogs.

And Jon & Emily also came over with Charlie Dog on Sunday evening. Talk about doggy world. But everyone got along great! (of course i am speaking of the dogs) We had a great time visiting and playing chicken foot on Saturday night. And on sunday i actually made a coffee cake and quiche. It was a spread that would be equal to christmas morning!!
