A Few Places We have Visited...

Most recently we had the chance to visit with my Aunt Patsy, Grandmother, and Mom. My grandmother is looking pretty good 82!

In the beginning of October we visited the Blanco State Park. We had a nice relaxing weekend.
While at Blanco State Park we lived on the edge and rented Kayak for a couple of hours. We had a great time. And yes the water was a little cold, it would have been better if the person in the back did not keep splashing me with his paddle. We are now on the look out for a kayak to add the Ashmore outdoor fun items!
In Mid September we visited South Parade Island. My favorite beach in Texas. Michael had a conference to attend, and i had a pool to attend to!!!!

For Labor Day in September 2010 we visited Pedernales State Park for the weekend. We very much enjoyed floating down the river! Okay so we had to walk some times!!

Well Summer is Over...

Actually here in Texas we can stretch summer out at least until September and some years October. Oh, how i love Texas!!!

What a fun summer!!! We have loved having the pontoon boat. My favorite part is finding a fun place to just stop and everyone just jumps out to swim for a bit. And of course tubing is fun also!

We have also enjoyed camping this summer. I love getting away from the house for the weekend and just hanging out with our family and friends! And with the air conditioned pop up it has all the cool qualities that i require and enjoy.

Fourth of July, Another Crazy Family Weekend

So the photos are all in backwards order of events! We all went to Lake Waco for the fourth of July this year. It was a little wet at times not only from the lake water but from rain on Saturday. But we all had a pretty good time and literally broke in the boat!!!!!

Pelican on Tree Stump!

Views of Lake Waco!
A late afternoon Cruise with my parents and Aunt Dot and Uncle Charlie!

Katie walking Presley. She was totally be stalked by the camera lady!

Presley and Rowdy swimming for the first time!

Jesse Tubing!

Jesse saving the boat from the water. Later he really did help Michael save the ice chest and boat!!!! Lets just say that while everyone ran to the back of the boat (which was good the weight needed to be at the back, away form the wall of water!) Jesse jumped up and grabbed the ice chest along with operating the front gate, while Michael put the boat in revearse to get the water off the boat quickly!!!!! So funny and lessons learned on so many accounts!

Men in deep conversion: Who is going to drive the boat?

Holding the cute cover from blowing away!!!!!
Bring out something yummy from my parents camper
Michael and my dad putting togeather the super cute shade/tent cover. Lots of pieces just for a cover! Later they added rope lights for at night inside. It was pretty cool. We were able to play a game of 5Crowns at 11:00 Pm thanks to the rope lights!
Everyone checking out the boat and making plans for FISHING!

Summer Time, Summer Time

Here is a few pics of our little family get togeather at Granger Lake. We love spending time with our kids. And i just want to warn those around Katie when you find yourself at the lake with her, put your own sunblock on!!!!! Michael Lee had to leave early to go to work that day. But him, Dad and Jesse fished for a couple of hours. And Dad really appriectatied him going out into the water to get his fishing stuff!! We love you guys and gal!!!

There is beauty all around... or at least at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens

So a few weeks ago we went to the San Antonio Botancial Gardens. So many flowers for me to fall in love with. I just wish they would allow me to live there!!!! Enjoy.

Momma got a New Ride!!!!

So it is offical after months of telling Michael I would like a new car, he worked his magic yesterday!!! So i am no longer driving the Mommy Van!

After spending 2 hours on one lot and not feeling very comfy with the vehicle or the deal we left. So our next stop i test drove around 3 SUV's and 2 cars. And i was finally able to say what i liked best! So we have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata SE. We got a stinking good deal, it has 800 miles and the owners only had it a few months. The dealership had not priced it yet, so Michael said what he would be willig to pay, while looking on kelly blue book on the i phone. They came back and said yes. We later realized Michael was looking at the car model that is below the Sonata! So after taxes, etc we still walked out paying $2000 under the blue book value!!! Best deal we have ever made!!! And it still has the brand new car smell! In fact they had not cleaned it yet. We had to wait for them to detail it before we could leave!

The the car has a V6 engine, which to me means that it has the guns to get me there fast! The features are super nicer than i thought we could afford! Sunroof that opens a little or alot! Great connections for the techy in me: I can talk on my phone thru Hands free bluetooth in the car. I can connect and listen to the ipod, and it tells me the name of the song on the car stereo read out! And of course a 6 cd player. I can open both garage doors with program button on the rear view mirror. It came with XM radio. Some of the other nice features are: has an odd leather and fabic seats, it is pretty!

So anyone that needs a 2001 Dodge Grand Cara Van- Sport Model. Call Micheal! He has decieded to sell it and buy a pontoon boat for the grown up family that we have now!!

Mother's Day Camp Out / Fishing Trip

Okay, i know that some of you, (mostly Jayma) will be sad they could not come with us! Michael decided that we needed a family camp out, so he scheduled a fishing trip to Choke Canyon Lake. We stayed in an air conditioned cabin. All the guys went out with a guide to go fishing; while the gals spent the day taking a nap, going for a few walks and playing a game. The guys caught a ton of catfish. We had a very good fish fry on Saturday night! And everyone took some catfish home for later use. Everybody had a great time and enjoyed each others company! We are looking forward to the next trip. Maybe July 4 at Lake Waco!

Spring Time in Texas

So after our trip to Nauvoo we remembered that we enjoy camping, so we spent one saturday checking out some nice camping areas south of San Antonio. Along the way we found a tons of wild flowers! My second favorite time of year!!!

The Spring Break Drive Across America!!

Well typical for the Ashmore Vactions. We spend alot of time driving, then rush around to see everything. But we enjoy seeing all the little towns and wondering what they do to make a living in the middle of no where! Enjoy the slide show! Slide curser over photo for detail.

Day One ... Sping Break

Okay so our first day of spring break has been busy. Michael left early in the morning to go to his last class at UTSA before we leave for Illinois. I have spent the day doing errands, cleaning the house, packing bags and packing the truck. We are leaving soon, to drop a bed off to our son in Hutto, and eat dinner with him and Katie. Then off to Waco to pick up the travel pop up camper. We are headed up to Lower Illinois area for the week. And no we have no family there just a vacation to see the area!! And i have just realized that my (really my son's) camera is not working. So, we will have one more errand to make on the way out of town!

I am Still Alive...

Okay so i know i have not had any updates since October. I really have no excuse other than ...... So we had a fun yummy Thanksgiving, turkey from Rudy's. Christmas brought us a house full of family. We ate, played games and played with the dogs. The new year found us looking for somewhere to eat dinner with the Amy & Jerame, turns out, not too many places are open on New Years Eve. Finally we found a place to eat at called "A Dong", not even kidding!!! It is a oriental restaurant, can you say lost in translation! And i have recently been release from the Primary as the music director. Just another example of time not working so well for us/me. We sadly just toke down the Christmas Tree on Sunday, yes as in 2-7-10. But, all the decorations were taken down in early Jan, and i needed Michael's help to take it apart. And really i pushed it to get taken down because the ward choir was meeting at our house. It was hard enough to explain to friends why we still had it up!!! Oh and my computer crashed and does not want to connect to the Internet anymore, not sure when i will find the time to fix that.

So that is a quick update. We are still alive and just not enough time in the day.
