Take (Drag) Me Out To The Ball Game!!!

Just a quick update on our Memorial Day Weekend. We dashed off Friday to meet Katie and Jesse and go to the Round Rock Express Game. It was fun as always.
So a few years ago when the take me out to the ball game song was played during the game. I accidently hit Katie!!! So now the big joke in during that song is to protect Katie from me!!!
And of course Fridays are the best not only because TGIF, But FIREWORKS!!
So on Saturday we visited with Lil Michael for an hour. That was very interesting. Then we relaxed at Katies before going to meet the D'Alessio's for a quick late, late lunch. It is so sweet to see them both share so well!
And on Monday we had a couple from the church come over and BBQ. Michael wanted to do it old school. But it did not work out so well so we ended up putting the food on the Gas Grill!

And lasting, i made the most yummy cake. It is so super simple and yummy. Quick overview: bake a lemon cake, once cool mix 1 1/2 cups of milk and 2 small boxes of lemon Jello, spread on top, then top with Cool Whip!!! That is it, fast, easy and i can't say enough, YUMMY.

The best ding dong ditch!!

Well Last night Michael and I went to dinner with some friends Randy & Raquel from church. We had a great dinner at the Chuy's that has been opened only about a month or so. (Wow thanks to Nick and Darlene back in RR this is one of our favorite places to eat.) We had to wait for 45 minutes for a table but it was well worth it!! Then afterwards we came back to our house to play a few games. And then we were ding dong ditched.!!! So by chance (are so i thought) i answered the door. And below is what i found.
At first i was like, "Oh someone brought us a gift of ice cream and a plant how sweet!" I was kinda thinking who would bring us ice cream? Then i noticed the card. I was certain that the handwriting on the card was Katie's. (and by the way she writes the sweetest notes) So i looked around and did not see their car or them. And the neighbor was out watering his lawn, and looked as if no one had even been near our house! So i brought it inside then asked Michael if he knew about this. He has such a good poker face. So i tried calling Katie. After all we do live 1 hour and 30 mins from her house. So surely she was not going to just drop and leave with out giving us a hug!! So once i found them (Katie and Jesse) trying to sneak around the corner of the street, i gave her a big Thank YOu hug.

So they came in and played games and had Ice cream with us. It is always fun playing games with family and friends.
I was totally not expecting them to do any of that. It was great. Thanks for a great mothers day surprise! You are the best daughter and i love you, your brother, and Jesse bunches. Yall are a great joy to my life.

Tidbits for the last two weeks.

So we have not been doing too much that is real exciting. But last week Michael was off Friday for "Battle of the Flowers". So since we were still a little unsure what that really is we grabbed the moment and hung the temple frames on the staircase. Sadly they have been sitting at the bottom of the stairs since January. I know you can't see the actuall photos in the frames. All but one is Chad Hawkin's sketch's or prints. And they are the temples that we have attended as a couple. So it is the Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Mesa, and the Salt Lake. And a cute print with the Salt Lake Temple that says "Where families are forever". It is all very cute. And i have been working every few mornings on my little flower bed out front. I sometimes feel i am really there to feed the rolly polly bugs. They have made me resort to putting out pellets that kills them, but they still seem to eat some plants. But the flower bed is coming along. And i am hopeful that with in the next month it will be full and over flowing with blooms.

But the good news is i finally have something growing in the strawberry pot." border=0>A

And i put togeather this little pot that sits outside our living room window. So that as we are reading or visiting with friends we have a few lovey blooms to gaze at!

Oh and the other kinda of interesting news is that Michael and i are now working at the Temple on two Saturdays a month. So if you come up on Saturday you might just see us!! And thanks to Cathy M, she helped me pick out a new dress! Sadly the first time i wore it Michael did not even notice. I guess white is white to him!!

So that is about all there is going on here. Michael's district has not been shut down for the swine flu yet. They are lucky and have not had any confirmed cases in his district. So we are just washing our hands and grocery carts and everyone is walking around with antiseptic hand cleaner. Oh and our libary is closed till this is all settled. Which is killing me, i have been reading this cute mystery series called "The cat who...." And i only have one left and it is at the libary on hold for me. So i guess i may start reading Gone with the Wind early. (our book club is reading that this summer)
